Mattel hired Karen to give the keynote address during their global corporate retreat in the Napa Valley. Three weeks later, Karen received, as a thank you, a custom-designed, one-and-only Barbie doll modeled exactly on Karen. “Wine Barbie,” as the doll is dubbed, is—naturally–holding a glass of red wine. Wine Barbie resides in Karen’s office among a slew of other (less visual) awards.
