Pet-Nat is short for pétillant naturel which is a type of wine made using an ancient method (méthode ancestrale). Pet-nats are bottled when the wine is still in its first fermentation, trapping the carbon dioxide that is emitted during fermentation and creating a slightly fizzy (and usually slightly cloudy) wine.
