WineSpeed, your weekly source of Wine Intel
If you love wine but aren’t interested in a wine newsletter, WineSpeed is for you. Why? Because WineSpeed is not really a standard wine newsletter. It’s a curated collection of wine intel from someone who writes about wine in a way most other wine pros don’t.
What I won’t be sharing are standard wine notes on 200 Chardonnays from (fill in the blank place), or pieces on how wine XYZ will age for fifty years, or endless paragraphs on terroir.
Wine’s a lot more interesting than that and life’s a lot faster than that.
So WineSpeed is a new kind of wine writing; compelling, thought-provoking, helpful, and sometimes, just plain fun.
What You’ll Receive Every Week
So Join Us! — If this sounds like the kind of modern, fun, helpful wine intel you’re interested in, I hope you’ll join us. I’d love to share it all with you.
–KAREN
Each edition of WineSpeed is meant to inspire, entertain, educate, and suggest some delicious wines to drink. Each week, you’ll receive a selection of the following:
The Week’s “Wine to Know” — One perfect handpicked selection each week, chosen from my latest tastings, along with a meaningful description of the wine (no winespeak), and a link to buy it. I taste about 100 wines for every one I suggest to you. And the wines I suggest come at all price levels—from $10 to $200.
Fascinating Facts — My short pieces on wine culture, news, and the people shaping the industry today.
My Blog — I work hard to make my blogs hard-hitting, thought-provoking, and personal, always with an educational spin.
Wine Words — Wine language needs decoding and you’ll find that decode in WineSpeed.
“Ask Karen” — Got a question? I’ve got the answer or I’ll find the answer. Nothing is too simple to ask. And yes, you can pose your wine questions directly to me.
The Wine Quiz — It’s super fun. It’s also a great way to challenge your knowledge. The quiz answers are an education in themselves! In some issues, we add a Food Quiz as an extra bonus.
Surprising Numbers — Fascinating numbers you won’t find anywhere else.
The Wine Clip Video — Short interviews with and revelations about people, places, and wines around the world.
My Take – Some of my insights and thoughts on controversial wine topics of the day.
WineSpeed Exclusives — Special content available only to subscribers, including behind-the-scenes access to my work.

WINESPEED IN YOUR INBOX
Having issues seeing your WineSpeed email in your inbox?
Getting WineSpeed in Your Inbox
Some email providers sort newsletters into separate folders instead of your main inbox. A few quick steps below will make sure WineSpeed always lands where you’ll see it.
If You Use Gmail
Gmail often routes newsletters to a “Promotions” tab instead of “Primary.”
Look for tabs at the top of your inbox: Primary, Promotions, Social, etc.
Find a recent WineSpeed email — it’s likely under Promotions.
Drag that email from the Promotions tab to the Primary tab.
A prompt will ask, “Do this for future messages from this sender?” Select Yes.
No tabs visible? Right-click on the WineSpeed email, choose “Move to,” then “Primary.”
If You Use Outlook
Outlook may sort WineSpeed into the “Other” or “Focused/Other” view, or mark it as “Clutter.”
Open a WineSpeed email.
If you see tabs labeled Focused and Other, right-click the email and select Move to Focused Inbox.
Choose “Always move messages from this sender to Focused Inbox” when prompted.
One Step That Helps With Any Email Provider
Add our sending address to your contacts or address book. Providers are far less likely to filter or flag mail from someone in your contacts.
Open a recent WineSpeed email.
Click on the sender’s name or email address.
Select Add to Contacts (or Add Sender).
Still Not Seeing WineSpeed?
Check your Spam or Junk folder. If you find WineSpeed there, mark it Not Spam, then follow the steps above to keep it in your inbox going forward.
