The study published in the African Journal of Ecology, sought to understand how lizards adapt to urban life. Lizards in Togo, Africa, were caught “stealing” pizza from the tables of diners at a seaside resort. Studies showed that the lizards had incorporated pizza as part of their daily diet, in the absence of their typical nutrition found in the wild that is not present in urban environments. The four-cheese pizza was the tails-down favorite of the lizards, the scent alone bringing them down from trees to snag a bite. Man, does pizza have its fans or what?
