Vintage Champagnes (also known as millésimé) are made entirely from the grapes of a single given year’s harvest and as such, they reflect that year’s vintage. Vintage Champagnes are only made in the very best years and generally constitute no more than 10% of all the Champagne made. Each year, each Champagne firm decides individually whether to make a Vintage Champagne. That Vintage Champagne can be made in any style—from Blanc de Blancs to Rosé and from Extra Dry to Extra Brut or even Brut Nature (no dosage at all). Vintage Champagnes are complex and extremely age worthy, often aging beautifully for two decades or more. In the past decade, harvests in 2012, 2013, and 2014 produced many Vintage Champagnes.
