The world’s most planted grape, Kyoho, is a blackish-blue colored Asian table grape hybrid, valued in Japan and China for its size and juicy flavor. “Kyoho” means “Giant Mountain” in Japanese and the individual grapes can be golf-ball sized. By contrast, many wine grapes from the species Vitis vinifera (such as Cabernet Sauvignon) are the size of blueberries.
