As I write in this week’s Blog, there are men behind the Napa Valley wine industry that few consumers know. One such man now owns many of the valley’s crown-jewel vineyards. It’s a fascinating story; hope you enjoy it. I love this week’s True False on a topic that I think is often poorly understood. As always, the answer is an education unto itself. This week’s issue is full of great wines that could cost a lot more than they do, starting with our Wine to Know whose name is a Latin legal phrase meaning “from a thing done afterward”. Hmmm. Maybe it’s a reference to what you should do—as in, buy a bottle? Plus our Spotlight on three delicious South African Chenins that cost less than $4 a glass. South Africa may seem like it’s far away, but it’s no farther than an aisle in your supermarket.

Happy tasting! Karen
