In 2024 (the last year of full statistics), the French consumed about 11 gallons of wine per person, which is nearly 4 times more than Americans at 3 gallons per person that year, according to the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine). France actually came in third in consumption after Italy and Portugal. The latter was way way way out in front with 16 gallons of wine consumed per person in 2024.
