Year that Women’s History Month began as a local “Women’s History Week” celebration in Sonoma County, California. Nearly ten years later March was officially designated as Women’s History Month by the US Congress. Worth noting: in 1978 there were fewer than 5 well-known women wine writers in the US and just 1 woman in the world was a Master of Wine. The association of US Master Sommeliers did not yet exist.
The affectionate name Australians give to their sweet wines. Ther term is broadly used to cover late-harvest wines as well as Australia’s phenomenal sweet FORTIFIED Muscats, topaques, and fortified tawnies.
